QUEM SOMOS/WHO WE ARE

Há vinte anos Anna Julia Dietzsch trabalha entre São Paulo e Nova York, desenhando edifícios e lugares que promovam uma arquitetura da convivência e uma cidade que valorize o convívio entre as pessoas e a natureza. Alguns dos projetos que participou incluem o design da Praça Victor Civita em São Paulo, do 9/11 Museum em Nova York, O Parque Linear do Córrego Verde na Vila Madalena e a reurbanização da terceira maior favela de São Paulo, o Jardim São Francisco. Atuante em projetos imobiliários, assim como em projetos culturais e comunitários, Anna participou da iniciativa Rua Aberta, que veio depois a se configurar como lei em São Paulo. Sua pesquisa sobre a urbanização da Amazônia busca soluções de desenvolvimento integrado e ecológico, valorizando o conhecimento das populações tradicionais. Anna é arquiteta e urbanista pela Universidade de São Paulo, com mestrado em Desenho Urbano pela Escola de Design de Harvard. Atualmente é sócia diretora do escritório Arquitetura da Convivência (ArC), leciona na Columbia University (NY), e integra a Plataforma Habita-Cidade na Escola da Cidade, em SP.

Anna Dietzsch is an architect and urban designer, who for the past 20 years has worked between São Paulo and New York, using design to promote interaction. Her portfolio includes the planning and design of significant projects, such as the 9/11 Memorial Museum in New York, the Victor Civita Eco-Park and the Green Stream Linear Park in Sao Paulo, the Pop-up Pool at Brooklyn Bridge Park, the Sarah Lawrence College Master Plan and the urbanization of the third largest favela in Sao Paulo, Sao Francisco Global. Her participation in community projects include the “Open Street” program in Sao Paulo, the “Cultural Territory” initiative and the organization of the first “International Night Seminar”, bridging community voices to the public sector and the legislative branch. Her work has been published by Metropolis, Wallpaper, Archine, Topos, City Greens, AU and Projeto magazines. Her work has been acknowledged by The American Institute of Architects, The Brazilian Institute of Architects and the Young Architects Ibero-American Alliance. She is currently leading a research on the urbanisation of the Amazon region and is principal at the design studio ArC – Arquitetura da Convivência. She also leads the Design for Six Feet Initiative with Kaja Kuhl and Liz McEnaney, an urban design laboratory started at the onset of the COVID pandemic. She is an Adjunct Associate Professor at Columbia GSAPP and coordinates the Traditional Architectures Platform at Escola da Cidade, in Sao Paulo. She has also taught at City College and NJIT.
